My research focuses on understanding the mechanics of soft materials through both computational methods like constitutive modeling and deep learning and experimental methods like biaxial tension and rheology. Using a combination of experimental testing, tasting surveys, and computational modeling, I am working to accelerate the development of plant-based meats that better mimic animal meat. I'm also interested in sex and age differences in the cardiovascular system.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading a book in my hammock, biking to the ocean, and hiking as many trails as possible.
