Skyler St. Pierre

My research focused on understanding the mechanics of soft materials through both computational methods like constitutive modeling and deep learning and experimental methods like biaxial tension and rheology. Using a combination of experimental testing, tasting surveys, and computational modeling, I worked to accelerate the development of plant-based meats that better mimic animal meat. I also researched sex differences in the cardiovascular system.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading a book in my hammock, biking to the ocean, and hiking as many trails as possible.
